  3. * Makes 4 servingsservings
  4. * Level of difficulty: Easy
  5. * Serving suggestion : Serve with roti or chapati. This is a very simple & easy recipe.

You can serve it as lunch or dinner along with vegetable curry. I have used small onions in my recipe but you can use big onions too if you want. You can also use fresh tomatoes instead of tomato ketchup for making gravy but it tastes best when tomato ketchup is used for making gravy... To prepare curry , first heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it.

When they start crackling add chopped ginger-garlic paste, green chillies & saute till raw smell goes off.. Add chopped onions & saute till they turn translucent.. Now add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, cinnamon powder , salt to taste & mix well.. Then add chopped tomatoes , stir well & cook on low flame till oil separates from mixture . ..Now add boiled rice into it along with curd , mix well.. After 5 minutes turn off flame . Garnish with chopped onion and coriander leaves.

Preparation

After having cooked rice, drain off any excess water in a colander. Place it back into its cooking pot over a low heat. Add two teaspoons of freshly grated ginger or finely chopped scallion (spring onion) roots along with a generous teaspoon of salt per 500g of raw rice (uncooked weight). Mix together for about a minute until well combined. Let it sit for about 10 minutes before serving.

This simple process helps prevent the formation of flatulence-causing acids in your body as well as making sure that each grain is perfectly tender but not mushy when eaten. It’s also a great way to bring out more flavor from your rice! If you don’t have any fresh ginger on hand, simply use dried ground ginger instead. You can buy dried ground ginger at most supermarkets or online stores such as Amazon. com. To prepare it, just mix one part dried ground ginger with four parts boiling water and let steep for 15 minutes before straining.

The resulting liquid is ready to be used in place of fresh ginger root in recipes like stir fries or marinades. For an even simpler preparation method, try adding some powdered turmeric powder (about 1/2 tsp per cup of uncooked rice) instead – turmeric has been shown to help relieve gas pain by preventing intestinal spasms which cause bloating and discomfort after eating high fiber foods like beans or whole grains.

Time required to cook

20-30 minutes. The dish can be eaten with either rice or bread. It is best served warm. If you wish, you can add spices like red chilli powder for a spicy flavor, or even coriander for a milder taste that is more suited to children's tastes. By substituting cucumber for chopped onion you get a healthier version of aloo tikki chaat which makes it a suitable light snack too. To cut down on oil use baking soda while cooking onions instead of adding oil.

This will also save time as onions will cook faster in baking soda than in oil. Use little water when boiling potatoes as they tend to break easily if cooked in excess water. Potatoes should be mashed well before adding other ingredients so that they are evenly distributed throughout your dish. Garlic gives an extra kick to your aloo tikki chaat but if you do not like garlic then skip it altogether or replace it with ginger instead. You can serve aloo tikki chaat hot or cold.

Cold aloo tikki chaat is a great option for picnics, especially during summer months. You may also want to try making some mango lassi (yogurt drink) to go along with your meal - both sweet and savory dishes work very well together! While serving, garnish with cilantro leaves for a colorful presentation. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in your refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Microwave reheating is recommended as it retains most of its original flavors and texture. A small amount of lemon juice squeezed over leftovers helps keep them fresh longer too.

Serving suggestion

In India, we usually prefer making fried rice with curd because of its simple method. Just fry some veggies in a pan (you can even roast it beforehand) then throw in some onions, green chillies and tomatoes followed by seasoning it with spices.

While frying those veggies or roasting them, don’t forget to heat up a cup of milk for about 10 minutes. After that add grated cheese if you like – use any kind of cheese you want, I prefer grating a lot of mozzarella – but if your doctor tells you to cut down on dairy products then skip it. Right after pouring your veggies into your pan add some cooked rice along with your warm milk + butter mixture.

Fry everything together till all ingredients are cooked properly before turning off heat. Now mix everything well using a spatula and add salt as per taste. Your meal is ready! Serve it hot while garnishing it with chopped coriander leaves. Now enjoy eating your delicious meal!
