When it comes to specs, you might want to sit down.
The V23 Pro packs 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage into a not-so-phone-sized 6.4mm-thick frame. As for that in-display fingerprint sensor?
It was said to be some of the best on any smartphone we tested last year, and we’re happy to report that hasn’t changed with version 2.0. Yes, really!
We found that unlocking your phone using Face ID was still faster than using an in-display fingerprint sensor, but it works well enough when you need to use your phone one-handed or when your hands are dirty.

In addition to supporting VoLTE and HD Voice over LTE, the V23 Pro supports all three major U.S. carriers' current plans for their respective upcoming networks: Verizon will launch its 5G network next month; AT&T is slated to roll out theirs sometime in early 2020; T-Mobile just started building its own nationwide 5G network late last year.
And while 5G isn't available yet, you can rest assured knowing that once it is, your V23 Pro will support it right out of the box. And yes, we know what you're thinking—you've seen phones with triple rear cameras before. But none of them have looked quite like this... until now.
Not only does our new design look gorgeous from every angle, but it also makes sense ergonomically: since there's no notch, we were able to add a couple millimeters to each side of our already large display so you can see more content at once. And speaking of displays... we think you'll agree that ours looks pretty damn good.
With AMOLED technology, Full HD+ resolution, and HDR10 certification, images pop off the screen. And because it's OLED technology, colors stay bright and accurate even when viewed at off angles. To make sure everything runs smoothly under all conditions (like say ... extreme heat), we used Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on both sides of our device - something many other companies don't do.
On top of being sleek and stylish, these glass panels also help protect against scratches - which means your V23 Pro will always look as good as new. And finally, we'd be remiss to not mention the V23 Pro's battery. At a whopping 3,500mAh, it's larger than most of the batteries you'll find in other devices of this size. Design
The 6.3-inch screen is a larger display than we’ve seen on previous Vivo models and while it is certainly imposing, it’s also perfectly manageable with one hand.
The bezels aren’t particularly slim either – it actually shares a similar screen-to-body ratio as the Samsung Galaxy S10+ at 90%. It has a pop-up selfie camera which enables you to take great selfies even in low light conditions, but takes some getting used to if you are not used to using such phones yet.
It also has an attractive gradient pattern for different color variations of its body. This smartphone features an edge-to-edge display so that users can enjoy multitasking capabilities without any hindrances from bezels. A small bar houses all your notifications and alerts, giving you quick access to all your important information. A 3D glass back panel adds more style to its overall design. Its metal frame gives it a sturdy feel that makes it comfortable to hold in your hands for long periods of time.
It runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with Funtouch OS 9 on top of it. The phone comes in four colors including Black, Red, Blue and White. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the triple rear cameras. As far as connectivity options go, it offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS, NFC & USB Type C port for charging & data transfer purposes.
A dual SIM slot lets you use two SIM cards simultaneously or switch between them depending on your requirements at any given point of time. In terms of performance, there's no doubt that it performs well. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 12GB RAM, you will have no trouble handling multiple apps running in background. There's 128GB onboard storage available for storing all your files and media content.
If you need additional space then there's always a microSD card slot where you can expand up to 512GB additional storage space using a microSD card. The device packs a 3730mAh battery which should easily last through a day under moderate usage conditions. Overall, I found the Vivo V23 Pro 5G to be quite an impressive device that checks off most boxes when it comes to specifications as well as performance aspects. It is a good option for those looking for a powerful and affordable flagship smartphone.
The Vivo V23 Pro 5G is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and it's a beast. The phone handles all tasks with ease, be it playing heavy games, streaming videos online or just everyday tasks like checking emails and browsing social media.
The Adreno 640 GPU ensures that you get a smooth experience in your favorite games as well. The 6.3-inch screen is a large display for the price and it's an AMOLED screen, which means you get rich colors and deep blacks. Although this does mean that you'll be draining the battery faster due to the high power consumption of OLED screens, the 3730mAh battery on board should last for a full day of usage under normal circumstances.
Display Section: Performance
If you’re into gaming, then it doesn’t get much better than a Snapdragon 855 platform and Adreno 640 GPU. For multitasking and managing everyday tasks, 4GB of RAM is more than enough for most people, and 64GB of internal storage is all you need. The 6.4-inch AMOLED display ensures everything looks sharp on a high-quality panel that won’t drain your battery life.
Photos: With a dual 16MP + 2MP setup on the back of V23 Pro 5G, photos are crisp and clear no matter what time of day or lighting conditions you find yourself in. AI smarts ensure that every photo looks as good as possible—and all without any extra work from you! On top of that, there’s an ultra-wide lens (128 degrees) so you can capture panoramic shots with ease. Camera: As we mentioned above, photos taken with V23 Pro 5G look amazing thanks to AI technology working behind the scenes.
That said, there are plenty of manual settings if you want full control over how your shots turn out. Video recording maxes out at 4K resolution at 30fps and front-facing cameras max out at 1080p video recording resolution at 30fps but have beautification features for taking selfies or making video calls.
A 3D ToF sensor enables face unlock functionality which works quickly and reliably. Design: Thanks to its sturdy metal frame, V23 Pro 5G feels great in hand while providing a solid base for protection against falls. A Corning Gorilla Glass 6 cover keeps things looking clean while keeping scratches off your screen, while also enabling wireless charging. Water resistance means you don't have to worry about using your phone outdoors when it's raining or when you're washing up after dinner.
